On the Legislative Front:

Manufactured Home Lot Rent

May 05, 2004 -- Senator Bunting introduced SB222 which would limit the yearly increase in lot rent for manufactured home owners. The increase could not exceed the cost-of-living increase granted to Social Security beneficiaries for the same year in which the rent increase is to be effective, plus one percentage point. On March 18, 2004 the Senate voted 15-2 in favor of the Bill. It was passed on to the House on March 25, 2004 and assigned to the Housing & Community Affairs Committee.
Gov. Minner Signs HB-2

May 27, 2003 -- In a ceremony referred to as historic and significant by most in attendance, Gov. Ruth Ann Minner signed HB-2 into law.

May 23, 2003 -- Governor Ruth Ann Minner plans to sign HB-2, the first major rewrite of the Mobile Home Lots and Leases Act, on May 27th.
House, Senate Pass HB-2; Send to Gov.

May 14, 2003 -- The 142nd General Assembly has passed HB-2, the first major rewrite of the Mobile Home Lots and Leases Act, and has sent it to the governor. Gov. Minner has 10 days to sign it. She has said she will sign it if it reaches her desk.

May 11, 2003 -- The Delaware State House has overwhelmingly passed HB-2, the first major rewrite of the Mobile Home Lots and Leases Act, and has sent it on to the Senate.

May 06, 2003 -- The first major rewrite of the Mobile Home Lots and Leases Act comes up for a vote in the Delaware House May 7; with predictions it will pass the General Assembly this legislative session and be signed by Gov. Minner.
New Consensus Legislation Nearly Ready

January 21, 2003 -- After intensive negotiations, representatives of landowners and homeowners are close to finalizing extensive changes to legislation that governs manufactured home communities in Delaware.
Bunting Proposes Public Debate on SB 194

October 13, 2002 -- Delaware State Senator George H. Bunting Jr. (D-Bethany) is proposing a public forum on S.B. 194 before the next General Assembly convenes in January.
SB 194 Dies in House

August 18, 2002 -- Senate Bill 194, a much-needed rewrite of the Mobile Home Lots and Leases Act (Chap. 70, Dela. C. 25), unanimously passed the Delaware State Senate on June 26. But, it never got to the floor of the House and died when the legislative session ended June 30.
