November 25, 2007 -- The Governor's Advisory Council on Manufactured Housing was re-activated in the summer of 2002 at the urging of Delaware Manufactured Home Owners Association, landowners and elected officials, and held its first meeting in August.
The council, authorized by Title 29, Section 2519(b) of the Delaware Code, is intended to advise the Division of Consumer Protection in the Attorney General's office on matters relating to manufactured home owners and tenants, manufactured housing and manufactured home communities.
The Governor appointed the Council, whose members include representatives of the manufactured housing industry and both renters and owners of manufactured homes. Non-voting, ex-officio members from the Consumer Protection Unit and the Department of Justice, appointed by the Attorney General also attend the monthly meetings.
Several DMHOA members serve on the council, which vigorously seeks fair solutions to all matters brought to their attention, but the Council is not intended as a replacement for legislative remedies to problems facing homeowners, renters and landowners.
You can contact the Governor's Advisory Council on any matter relating to manufactured housing.
