Housing conference
addresses discrimination

The Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council Inc. held its second annual conference April 22, in Sussex County Council chambers. This year’s focus was on the state’s aging and disabled communities. Bobbie Hemmerich, a lobbyist with the Delaware Manufactured Home Owners Association, attended the conference in Georgetown. Two new measures have been introduced this year to protect the interests of homeowners, but she said some laws already passed are not being enforced. “We have laws on the books. We keep trying to get laws passed, but we don’t have any enforcement,” she said. Association representatives met with the members of the House Manufactured Housing Committee Wednesday, April 29.
